my master

i am sometimes in the market
for a window to andromeda
but every time i buy one
i just waste it on myself

a flawless prismic slab
of polished jade
hovers above a platter
half its diametric width
rotating slowly as the flat
and sterile lighting in the room
demonstrates a cheap imitation
of specular luminescence
reflecting upon the pyramidal capstones
at each corner of the megalith
they're made of the same golden alloy
as the platform above which they levitate
their glossy finish is not only tactless
but distressing

my master gave me a ship in a bottle
i gave her a curtain full of light
